South East Angels Celebrates £2M Investment Milestone
South East Angels are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey. As of August 2024, we've surpassed £2 million in total investments, reaching an impressive £2,112,000 invested across 25 startups since our inception in November 2020.
Rapid Growth and Diverse Portfolio
In less than four years, we've established ourselves as a pivotal player in the UK's startup ecosystem. Our investments span a wide range of sectors, including SaaS, Healthcare, DeepTech, and FinTech, with investments ranging from £25,000 to £350,000.
Kristina Pereckaite, our Director, shared her excitement about this achievement: "From the beginning, we've been focused on being an active and engaged angel group. It's fantastic to have reached this significant milestone in just a few years' time. This achievement reflects not only our commitment to supporting innovative startups but also the incredible potential we see in founders outside the traditional investment hubs."
Success Stories and Impact
In a short space of time, a number of companies in our portfolio have achieved significant success. Zedify, one of our investee companies, has gone on to raise capital from Barclays Ventures, while Husmus secured investment from Google Ventures. In a significant win for our portfolio, ORB Innovations was acquired by Glidewell Dental in 2023.

Recognition and Regional Focus
Our commitment to backing startups outside of the UK's 'golden triangle' (London, Oxford, and Cambridge) has not gone unnoticed. In July 2024, we were awarded 'Most Active Investor in the Regions' at the UKBAA awards, underscoring our vital role in fostering innovation across the UK.

With 30 active members, we've created a community of experienced entrepreneurs and investors who collaborate to make the investing experience efficient, rewarding, and impactful. We offer our members not just financial opportunities, but also intellectual stimulation and social connections through pitch events, socials, and investor learning sessions.

To mark this milestone and showcase the success of our investments, we'll be hosting our first-ever portfolio showcase on 10th December, 2024. This invite-only event will be a celebration of our portfolio’s growth, a glimpse into the future of our group, and a fantastic opportunity for our wider investor networks to connect and open up doors for collaboration.
