Compliance AI startup Falco wins Kent Startup Roadshow

Following a display of quickfire startup pitches at the Tunbridge Wells startup roadshow, compliance-AI startup Falco has been announced as the winner.

Founders, investors, and key stakeholders from the Kent startup ecosystem came together in August 2024 for the startup event as part of the Startup Roadshow 2024 series. These events, hosted by South East Angels, aim to showcase local startups and champion the startup ecosystem around the South East. Roadshow locations include Brighton, Southampton, Tunbridge Wells, Guildford and London, with each event serving as a platform for entrepreneurs to connect with potential investors, gain exposure, and receive valuable feedback to propel their ventures forward. The pitching competition featured five early-stage startups covering a variety of industries.

The winner of the event, Falco, is revolutionising compliance in the financial services industry by developing intelligent, autonomous digital co-workers that integrate seamlessly with compliance teams.

Falco is addressing a critical issue where 60% of compliance professionals in the financial services industry are burnt out and leaving their roles due to the immense pressures of regulatory change, substantial fines, and a lack of resources and tools to operate efficiently.

Falco is building up the capabilities of their compliance agent, AskFalco, to align with the full range of tasks handled by a compliance officer – everything from monitoring and analysing regulatory changes, to responding to queries from business units, updating policies and procedures, managing reporting, and developing training materials.

With AskFalco as part of the team, compliance functions increase productivity, reduce errors, and ensure that they remain ahead of regulatory changes, ultimately driving better outcomes for the entire organisation.

Jake Fox (South East Angels) says: These events exist to highlight talented local founders building impressive, scalable businesses. Falco was chosen as the winner because Pete clearly presented how much he knew compliance teams’ pain points and how using the latest in AI-technology could alleviate their struggles.

Pete from Falco says: "It was fantastic to attend a local event organized by South East Angels and to have the opportunity to showcase how we're building a game-changing solution for the compliance space. Winning the pitch competition was a huge validation of our mission to alleviate the immense pressures compliance teams face today. We're excited about the journey ahead and the impact Falco will have on the industry."
