South East Angels announced as finalist for Angel Group of the Year at UKBAA Awards
South East Angels is thrilled to announce that we have been named as a finalist in two categories at the esteemed UK Business Angel Association (UKBAA) Awards. We are in the running for both the coveted Angel Group of the Year and Most Active Investor in the Regions awards, highlighting our commitment to excellence and our significant contributions to the investment community. One of our portfolio companies, ORB Innovations, has also been listed as a finalist for Exit of the Year.
The UKBAA Awards celebrate the best and brightest in the business angel and early-stage investment community. Being shortlisted for these awards is a testament to our dedication to supporting innovative startups and driving economic growth across the UK.
Angel Group of the Year
This award recognises the most active and impactful angel group in the UK, making not only a significant number of investments during the past year but also bringing strong added value to support the growth and success of their portfolio. Our finalist status in this category reflects our strategic investment approach, rigorous due diligence, and unwavering support for the entrepreneurs we back.
Most Active Investor in the Regions
Our finalist status for Most Active Investor in the Regions recognises our commitment to backing founders outside the ‘Golden Triangle’ of London-Cambridge-Oxford. We pride ourselves on identifying and nurturing talent across the UK, ensuring that regional businesses can access the resources and support they need to thrive.
Exit of the Year
We are also delighted to announce that ORB Innovations, one of our portfolio companies, has been listed as a finalist for Exit of the Year. This recognition celebrates the most exciting exit by an early-stage investor in the last 12 months, as a result of backing an innovative UK entrepreneur. ORB Innovations' success story exemplifies the impact of strategic investment and dedicated support.
Kristina Pereckaite, Founder of South East Angels, commented, “We are incredibly honoured to be recognised by the UKBAA in these categories that reflect our group’s mission: Increasing investment activity in our region, increasing the success of angel investing for our members, and ultimately, growing the most valuable angel group that challenges the status quo.”
The winners of the UKBAA Awards will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on 3rd July at the Science Museum in London.
