Our group wins Most Active Investor in the Regions at the UKBAA Awards
We're thrilled to announce some exciting news: South East Angels has just been awarded "Most Active Investor in the Regions" by the UK Business Angel Association.
On July 3rd, our team attended the UKBAA awards ceremony at the Science Museum in London. We were honoured to receive this recognition which highlights our commitment to backing founders outside the Golden Triangle of London, Oxford, and Cambridge.
Since we launched in late 2020, we've:
Deployed over £1.7 million in capital
Invested in 24 promising companies
Achieved our first exit
And brought in 49 dedicated angel investors from across the region
Our founder Krsitina Pereckaite summed up the significance of the win for our community: "I founded the group with a mission for us to become the most active investor in the region, so to be recognised for this exact thing is such a significant milestone for us. It's hard to put it into words, but our community has such a unique culture, and our members really are some of the best angel investors in our region. They all thoroughly deserve this recognition."
As we celebrate this achievement, we're more committed than ever to our mission of increasing the success of angel investing through community, high-quality deal access, and education. We're excited to continue growing our community across the South East and to introduce more women to angel investing through our Future Angels programme.
