South East Angels backs Tradeaze to transform construction logistics

We're proud to announce our investment in Tradeaze, a marketplace platform connecting building merchants to an elastic fleet of construction couriers.

Construction workers can waste up to 2 hours a day stuck in traffic retrieving parts and equipment, and less than 1% of current UK building merchants can offer same day delivery. This problem was witnessed first hand by co-founder Jack Hopkins during his time as an electrician, inspiring the beginnings of Tradeaze. 

Tradeaze offers a marketplace connecting building merchants, freelance drivers, and building sites to orchestrate orders and deliveries via platform, with a current response time of 30 minutes. The startup actively works with the largest merchants in the UK, and hosts a fleet of 500 construction couriers in London. Their plan is to expand across the UK to help all builders and merchants of different sizes access speedy deliveries.

Why we backed Tradeaze
Construction is a huge market that is yet to be served by the more modern platforms. Huge sums of value in worker’s time is wasted when parts and equipment are not available on-site, begging for an agile service that can connect the dots for easier, and more efficient equipment deliveries. The founding team showed us they have a deep understanding of the market, crafting a product-flow that matches how the current industry already works, reducing friction to adoption.
