Skyverse wins London Startup Roadshow

Following a display of impressive pitches at the London startup roadshow, aviation-tech startup Skyverse has been announced as the winner.

Founders, investors, and key stakeholders from the London startup ecosystem came together in July 2024 for the startup event as part of the Startup Roadshow 2024 series. These events, hosted by South East Angels, aim to showcase local startups and champion the startup ecosystem around the South East. Roadshow locations include Brighton, Southampton, Tunbridge Wells, Guildford and London, with each event serving as a platform for entrepreneurs to connect with potential investors, gain exposure, and receive valuable feedback to propel their ventures forward. The pitching competition featured five early-stage startups covering a variety of industries.

The winner of the event - Skyverse, has built a SaaS platform for Air Traffic Controllers. Their product is aimed at the large number of Regional and General Aviation airports worldwide that surprisingly are still using inefficient paper processes dating back to the 1950s. Founded in 2022, Skyverse have now launched their product and are actively working with airports around the UK keen to advance the efficiency and safety of their Control Towers.

Jake Fox (South East Angels) says:

These events aim to bring attention to exceptional early-stage founders solving big problems. The pitches on display were fantastic and the judges had a difficult time picking a winner. Skyverse was chosen because Michael (Founder) delivered a clear pitch that not only highlighted the problem small airports have with antiquated systems, but also displayed the international size of the market opportunity for the Skyverse solution.

Michael from Skyverse says:

It just goes to show that raising money doesn't need to be stuffy business. May I pass on a big thanks to South East Angels for bringing together a spread of fascinating early stage businesses and wise investors in such an enjoyable event. We all left with new contacts and scheduled follow-up calls.
